What We Treat
Acne scars don't have to be a permanent reminder
You dealt with acne — and now the scars keep you thinking about it long after the breakouts have stopped. Modern treatments can significantly reduce the appearance of acne scarring and help you feel confident in your skin again.

What causes acne scars?
Acne scars form when inflammatory acne — the deep, painful kind — damages the skin's underlying structure. When a breakout is severe enough to destroy collagen in the deeper layers of skin, the body's repair process often produces uneven results. Instead of smooth, new skin, you're left with indentations, raised areas, or textural irregularities.
Picking or squeezing blemishes significantly increases the risk of scarring by driving bacteria deeper and causing more tissue damage. Delayed treatment of active acne also allows inflammation to persist longer, increasing the chance that scars will form. Genetics play a role too — some people are simply more prone to scarring than others.
The most common types of acne scars include rolling scars (broad, wave-like depressions), boxcar scars (wider depressions with defined edges), and icepick scars (narrow, deep pits). Each type responds differently to treatment, which is why a personalized assessment is so important.
Your Options
How we treat acne scars
Acne scar treatment often works best as a combination approach. During your consultation, Lyndsay will evaluate your scarring type and recommend the most effective path forward.
Microneedling
Primary Treatment
Microneedling is one of the most effective treatments for acne scars. The tiny needles create controlled micro-injuries that trigger your skin's healing response, stimulating new collagen production exactly where scarred tissue needs it most. Paired with PRP, exosomes, or salmon DNA, the process is supercharged — delivering growth factors directly into the treatment area for faster, more dramatic results.
Learn moreChemical Peels
Resurface & Smooth
Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin to encourage fresh, healthy skin growth underneath. For acne scars, peels help even out texture irregularities and reduce discoloration left behind by old breakouts. A series of treatments can significantly smooth the skin's surface over time.

For Deep Scars
Deep icepick or boxcar scars can sometimes benefit from injectable fillers. By placing a small amount of filler beneath the scar, the depressed area is lifted to match the surrounding skin. This approach works well for isolated deep scars that haven't responded fully to other treatments.
